It seems like with each week that passes, Donald Trump is presented with a new conflict that he then, routinely, messes up beyond belief. The steady streak of failure to come out this White House is nothing short of staggering. Whatever the topic of conversation is that week, Donald Trump will make sure to mishandle it in one way, shape or form.
It was business as usual this week, as Donald Trump said that an official decision on Syria would be made in the next 24 to 48 hours. Which is probably what prompted Arizona Senator John McCain to speak up. Of the whole ordeal, McCain said what was truly on his mind.
Specifically, McCain said, “President Trump last week signaled to the world that the United States would prematurely withdraw from Syria. Bashar Assad and his Russian and Iranian backers have heard him, and emboldened by American inaction, Assad has reportedly launched another chemical attack against innocent men, women and children, this time in Douma.”
McCain pressed on, adding, “President Trump was quick to call out Assad today, along with the Russian and Iranian governments, on Twitter. The question now is whether he will do anything about it. The President responded decisively when Assad used chemical weapons last year. He should do so again, and demonstrate that Assad will pay a price for his war crimes.”
