Former Vice President Joe Biden is now taking steps towards a 2020 run for president, with close aides revealing to Politico that they are readying themselves for a number of scenarios ahead of a possible campaign declaration.
Politico confirmed that Biden’s inner circle is prepping for several 2020 scenarios, including Biden declaring his candidacy soon enough to set the field of opponents around him or late enough to avoid the first two contests in Iowa and New Hampshire. Another option could be running on the idea of a one-term presidency.
The former vice president is “thinking through a million unconventional options, because there is an acknowledgment that this could be an unconventional campaign,” one person close to the discussions claimed.
Former presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton is now expected to receive an award in May in support of here impact on society from the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University, according to a new press release.
Clinton, a former secretary of State, will be handed out the Radcliffe Medal on May 25, an award that praises people who have had a “transformative impact” on society.
Previous award recipients include Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, former Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen, and former Senator Elizabeth Dole.
